Restaurant bookkeeping backed by real-world experience.
We bring together bookkeeping, accounting, finance, and practical restaurant experience.
Restaurants don't run like other small businesses.
Restaurants operate with tight margins, high transaction volumes, multiple payment channels, payroll complexity, delivery platforms, vendor activity, and constantly changing food and labor costs.
Our bookkeeping approach is designed around that environment. We understand how restaurants operate and what that means for their bookkeeping, reporting, and day-to-day financial information.
Experience that understands the business behind the books.
Robert “Bob” Ellison
Bob Ellison brings nearly four decades of experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial statement analysis, with extensive work in restaurant and food-service businesses.
His experience spans independent restaurants, full-service establishments, chains, and QSRs. Having started out working in a restaurant kitchen before entering accounting, Bob brings a practical understanding of thin margins, cash-flow pressures, and the operational realities restaurant owners face.
As Bob has reduced his day-to-day workload, TablePoint works closely with him in supporting the ongoing bookkeeping needs of long-standing restaurant clients.
Mike Mehta
Mike Mehta brings many years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, with a particular focus on restaurant businesses. Supported by an MBA in Finance, he brings a broader financial perspective to the bookkeeping process and understands how accurate, current books support better business decisions.
Mike also has a long-standing personal connection to the restaurant industry. His wife owned and operated a restaurant for many years, giving him first-hand exposure to the day-to-day realities, cost pressures, staffing challenges, and financial demands of running a restaurant. Combined with his bookkeeping background, that experience gives him a practical understanding of how restaurants operate and how to use bookkeeping to provide meaningful insights into the business.
Mike particularly enjoys working directly with clients — talking through their business, understanding what is happening behind the numbers, and making sure they feel supported throughout the bookkeeping process. He approaches every engagement with a hands-on, detail-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for keeping restaurant books accurate, current, and useful.
We are detail-oriented by design.
Restaurant bookkeeping leaves little room for loose ends. From individual transactions and reconciliations to monthly reporting and year-end coordination, we believe the small details are what make the books reliable.
The standard we hold our bookkeeping to.
These are the principles behind every account we manage, whether we are working directly with a restaurant or alongside a CPA firm.
Accuracy
Books should be properly maintained and reconciled.
Timeliness
Historical reports are less useful when owners need to make decisions today.
Restaurant Knowledge
We understand the financial structure and terminology of restaurant operations.
Responsiveness
You should be able to get answers when you need them.
Useful Reporting
Bookkeeping should provide information that helps you operate the business.
